Basketball and the Battleship - December 12, 2005

Today was one of the best preparation day’s I have ever had on the mission for a number of reasons.  First, we got to go to Wilmington and it is just awesome over there.  There are more things to do and it is a beach town and so the vibe is just really good over there.  So when we got there, we met all the missionaries at the Stake Center for basketball.  We played the most intense basketball game and I can now jump higher than ever.  I threw down 2 dunks in the game and it just felt good being on the court.  Riding bikes is huge for staying in good shape, now I get why Montague was so adamant on riding the way we used to.

After basketball we stopped by the coolest and best burrito place called Flaming Amy’s.  We had it one other time after a zone conference, but words cannot do this place justice.  After the lunch, we went to the North Carolina Battleship.  Coolest experience ever – We went with about 20 missionaries and got to see and hear some of the great history with that ship.  Pretty cool stuff and we finished the day doing some more service.  Literally not one down minute the whole day and it was awesome.  We have a full week of appointments ahead and this really started the week right.  Great times in North Carolina!
