6 Month Mark - December 15, 2005

I cannot believe that it has been six months since I started the mission.  How is that even possible?  It really does not seem like it has been that long, but at the same time I am starting to forget what life was like before when I was “normal”.  I still feel pretty normal, but I’m sure I’m not haha.  This has been such a great experience.  It is unbelievable to get to spend this time thinking about others as much as possible.  This is definitely a life changing experience.

One of the traditions of the mission is to burn a tie on your six month mark.  So tonight I had the opportunity to do that.  Roberts would not let me skip this and I’m glad he didn’t.  It was actually pretty fun to burn the tie and then back to mission life as usual.  We got to play bingo today as well.  Going to the hospital and playing bingo with the elderly is one of the best moments we have out here.  These people look forward to us coming each week.  It is really fun to talk with them and get to know about their lives and hear what matters most to them and what they think about on a daily basis.  The consensus that I learn from them is that I need to travel as much as I can.  The best experiences in life are travelling it sounds like.  Some of these people have been all over the world and it’s cool to hear their stories.  Great day and happy for what I’ve learned over the past 6 months.
