P-Day and Wilson's - September 12, 2005

Another preparation day in North Carolina has come and gone.  We had a great time playing basketball with the zone.  There were 12 missionaries and a few local members that came to play.  Great times and I can dunk the easiest in my life right now.  Who would have thought that the best shape of my life would come on the mission?  Not complaining - These bikes are making a huge difference!  We spent 30 minutes at the mall to email family and it was awesome to hear how well everyone is doing.  So grateful to have that time to hear that everyone is doing well.  We had an evening appointment at the Wilson's and it was so great.  They are the coolest family and live in a historic house just outside of Rocky Mount.  It was such a nice place and they even had post cards of the house.  What a great dinner we had too.  Brother Treanor went with us and he was great.  Found out tonight that he was a cornerback in college in Utah.  He said he played with Steve Young in 1982 and that one time he had an easy interception on him.  He was so pumped and then he realised the pass was thrown way too hard and he ended up jamming his finger/hand the worst that he ever has.  It was a hilarious story the way he told it - Brother Treanor is a great guy and says he wants to come out with us more often.

Ryan Van Wagenen served his mission in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was a missionary for 2 years.
